Whilst running The Flower Pot Nursery, we had some of its finest specimen plants exhibited at the Royal Horticultral Society’s Chelsea Flower Show from 22nd to 26th May, 2018. Awarding winning, Susan Long Sculpture, specially selected a wide range of plants that were displayed alongside her stunning pieces and we were all delighted with the result. The exhibit was awarded Five Gold Stars.

The Flower Pot Nursery was a local family run business that has been located on the outskirts of Royal Tunbridge Wells for over ten years. Owners, Helen and Dean, offer high quality plants, flowers, trees and rare specimens for commercial and residential gardens. It was the rare specimens and trees that appealed to Susan Long for use in her exhibit.

The set up of the RHS Chelsea Flower show is almost a military operation. The Flower Pot Nursery team had a lot of experience in preparing exhibit items for such prestigious horticultural events. The trees and rare specimens had to be carefully packed and driven to Chelsea. When on site, exhibitors have just two weeks to set up their displays.

Susan Long started her sculpture business in 2006 and since then many private collections have begun and hundreds of commissions fulfilled. She has been exhibiting at the Chelsea Flower Show since 2013 and has been awarded three gold stars every year. For her 2018 display she has selected two rare Helix bay specimens, a silver birch tree, a wisteria umbrella as well as many flowers, perennials and roses from the Nursery. This year she received her best award yet with the Five Gold Stars.
